read out loud
This is software that can be installed on the computer to read text files and webpages to students. We have it free for students with IEPs and 504 plans. All the SPED teachers should have at least 1 CD. If you don't have one contact Rosemary for a copy. This can be installed on the labs or classroom computers as long as students with IEPs and 504 plans are the only ones using it. Since other students don't qualify for audio or read aloud on the SOL tests it isn't good to have them use this program anyway. If you're a regular education teacher who wants to use this with your students ask your SPED teacher or Rosemary Wagoner for help.
speaktext
SpeakText is an app that does much of the same thing that Read Out Loud does as far as reading text. It doesn't allow the students to take notes though.
