Motivating Struggling Students
Students that struggle academically become disengaged in our classrooms and embedding technology can help bring them back. By the time these students reach high school motivating them becomes a little more challenging. We will look at some ways to help get them involved in your lesson. We all know that when we use "games" in class the students enjoy that. However, our unmotivated students may only be slightly interested. Have you ever tried having them teach you class?
Students as Teachers
Types of Games/Interactive Applications
Students as Teachers
- First identify strengths of your students.
Determine their academic and technical strengths - Present several options of "games" students can alter/create for the class.
Special Needs students may need more technical support creating the "game" as they tend not to get
as much time on the computer as other students.
The first time doing the activity students will do better with fewer choices.
- Allow the student to present the "game" to the class.
