creating lesson plans that effectively integrate technology
Many people think of technology or gadget first then making a lesson that integrates technology. Is this the best way? I would say it probably ends up frustrating teachers more than helping. To have a good lesson that integrates technology you need to think about the skill first. Some skills might be better taught with the iPad instead of the Chromebook or the old fashioned way with paper and books. Technology should help us work and teach smarter not harder. If you're having a hard time fitting some type of technology in a lesson try starting with the content and then evaluating which if any technology should be used. Some lessons are still better done with books, discussions, etc. It is best to use varied instructional methods as opposed to always doing the same thing. For instance if you use Power Point or the SMART Board for everything that will soon become just as stale as lecturing the entire lesson.
