It is important to review and evaluate a website prior to using it with your students. It is also important that students know how to evaluate websites as they research on the web. What are the keys to look for to ensure your have accurate information. Below are some key things to look for on each web site.
Date Last Modified- If the topic being researched is depending on current information then this is more important than a historical research project.
Contact Information- If there is no one listed to contact then it is probably an individual's opinion more than fact.
Easily Navigated- Do you get lost in the page or is it easy to find your way bac, to the home page?
Content- Is the information on the page factual, helpful for the project, is there a title. etc?
